John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Since Jesus was the perfect reflection of his heavenly father, these scriptures above show that if Jehovah was able, he would have given up his own life for the human race. In normal human relationships, a loving parent would sacrifice their own life to save their dying child if there was no other way. Any parent would endure any slander, lie, or false accusation rather than see their child suffer terribly and die.
Therefore, how could it be that God feels that settling some so-called issue about the vindication of his name and challenge about His right to rule and the rightness of his rule are more important than preventing the human race from suffering thousands of years of untold death and gratuitous evil and misery, most of which is not caused by individual moral choice but through no fault of the sufferer (eg, child diseases, earthquakes)?
Would we not expect Jehovah, like Jesus, to have been prepared to sacrifice his own reputation and ignore any personal slander and lie about the rightness of his rule and motives, knowing full well they were lies, rather than see his human children suffering thousands of years of evil and horrific suffering? Jesus showed by willingly giving up his life on the cross that he was prepared to do just that, so why not Jehovah?
Going by Jesus' example, if God is love, we would expect his love for humanity to be so great that he would have sacrificed His own need for vindication and being proven right rather than let the human race suffer so terribly for so long.
I'm speaking from the perspective of those who believe the Bible is inerrant, such as JW's.
