Do you think it's possible to fall in love with someone by reading their words of love to someone else?
That seems to be the only explanation to a life-changing experience related in the April 1 issue of The Watchtower.
The experience tells of a 102 year old woman from Russia. It says that "one evening in 1999, they read a scripture to (her) that touched her heart. It contained Jesus' moving words to the faithful apostles when he was instituting the Lord's Evening Meal."(page 32)
These are the words: "This means my body which is to be given in your behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.....This cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood, which is to be poured out in your behalf."
These words, the WTS teaches, were directed to his spirit-anointed brothers, and not to the members of the "great crowd". That being so, how would the woman from Russia be "moved" by them? Was she declaring herself to be one of the "anointed"? Most likely not. So how could she be moved and have her heart touched?
Surely she would be rightly moved if those words were said to her and for her. Of course, that's the Christian belief. But the WTS believes otherwise....or do they?
Cheers,
Ozzie
