The thought just occured to me, if you do not change your thinking or agree to continue saying the GB is God's spokesman, you will be disfellowshipped for apostacy and your family and friends, etc, will shun you.

Nope. The right of religious groups to shun members is protected activity, under the principles of freedom of association AND freedom of worship. There's SCOTUS rulings to support this, which should be found via a quick Google.
