I know that I'm being lazy here, but I know that someone here will have the answer off the top of their head.

There was a bloke in the OT (Jacob?) who saw a woman and fancied her (Rachel?) and wanted to marry her. He worked for her dad for 7 years but ended up with her sister (Leah?) 'cos she was older and had to work another 7 years to get the sister he really wanted.

Yes, I know it sounds crazy but that's the story.

Can someone point me to the OT ref. for this please? It's a genuine enquiry and I'll explain why later.

    Thanks in advance.

It's all a bit weirder when you read it again. The sound of banjos resonates. 7 years' work for a bonk, and then it's the wrong woman? Then another 7 years to bonk the right one? Was she still as beautiful 14 years after he met her? Maybe this was a generic warning from God to men - work your balls off and even then you won't get to bonk the woman you really want to - or if you do, she'll be just as knackered as you are by the time you finally get round to it.

I do have a genuine reason for asking for this ref. All will be revealed.

"work your balls off and even then you won't get to bonk the woman you really want to - or if you do, she'll be just as knackered as you are by the time you finally get round to it." i knew the bible had to have relevant lessons for todays world. that is deep. respect.
