Fine Counsel--How Does It Benefit Us Today?

    1. Fine, wholesome counsel has a happifying effect. It educates and benefits the great crowd of overcomers, whose steadfast reliance on Jehovah and the spiritual food from his organization truly is a cause for rejoicing.

    2. Too, suchlike ones manifest their support for God's arrangement by regularly assembling at Christian meetings and submissively acknowledging the headship of spirit-appointed elders. Jehovah's Witnesses are mindful of Bible-based admonition to be diligent in field service, personal study and prayer. Moreover, they seek the Kingdom first in their daily lives, ever alert to conduct themselves in a theocratic manner.

    3. Indeed, this is the course of wisdom. Soon now the Great Theocrat, Jehovah God, will unleash Armageddon upon the world of unrighteous mankind. How foolish it would be to get ensnared by bad association! Some worldly individuals may scoff at this, just as they did in Noah's day and Peter's day and Charles Taze Russell's day. But mature Christians know the time is short; therefore, we wisely buy out the opportune time, not neglecting the gathering of ourselves together. We support the worldwide work with our "valuable things." Keeping pace with Jehovah's celestial chariot, we shun apostate propaganda and cling firmly to Scriptural principles. How important it is that we all heed fine counsel!

    1) What is truly a cause for rejoicing?

    2) Jehovah's Witnesses are diligent in what?

    3) With what should we keep pace and what should we shun?

    Do You Remember?

    * How fine is the counsel Jehovah's organization provides?

    * During the life spans of which three outstanding Witnesses of Jehovah was the end closer than ever before?

    * How do you personally shun apostate propaganda?

    That's bloody amazing!

Do you think they have a computer at bethel with all the standard phrases stored and a random order generator? Every two weeks they just push a button and yahoo! a new set of magazines. Same phrases...different order.

That is sooo funny! I never realized how much they use the same phrases over and over again. Is that something you realize only after your eyes are opened to the REAL truth!

Kind of like a Stepford theocratic version of the Burnmaker website, huh??

I think in recent years the writing has become more generic and recycled than ever. If you go back to the start, Russell's style was definitely different from Rutherford's. Then, if you look at magazines from the 1950's, they typically had at least something new or different to say. (For instance, there used to be a Questions from Readers in every issue of the Watchtower, on quite detailed topics of varying scope. Back then, I think they were actually trying to do the spiritual "Dear Abby" thing to some degree, rather just using that column as a soapbox to put the flock straight or to subtly introduce doctrinal changes.)

In the 1960's and 1970's, you had long rants about fulfillment of Bible prophecy and antitypes and whatnot courtesy of Frederick Franz.

But somewhere toward the late 1980's, they started to scale that all down, and most of the Watchtower articles since the 1990's have been rehashes of old material, simple stuff.

That's why we hear these buzzwords constantly. It's geared toward indoctrination through repetition, of course, but it's also an easy way for the writers to put together articles: just string together these familiar phrases in slightly different configurations and the article will be rubber-stamped for publication, and everyone at the Kingdom Hall will just nod along. Try reading what I wrote aloud as if you were the Watchtower reader on Sunday, and you'll see what I mean.

    nod along...or nod off...

It's interesting you mention "Jehovah's Celestial Chariot"...the JWs of all don't realize that God is God! Yes, just like a woman, he has the right to change his mind!

If for one split second in history the JW's were the chosen people, the celestial chariot has circled wagons a million times since then.

Furthermore, it is disrespectful to call The Supreme Sovereign by his first name, anyway. So "God" is plenty good enuf. It's Mr. Haugland, not Jan.

If God sees fit, "Armageddon" becomes a non-event (and the WTS Scadenfreude nullified), IF it's in a higher best-interest. But NO, the WTS INSISTS that their version of events is fait-accompli! Just the fact alone that Jesus came is proof positive of God's ability to change plans on a dime of a chariot wheel. So are many other Bible and/or historical examples.

    Think about it. ANYTHING's possible.

We may have given our everlasting thanks to the "computer dudes to Bethel" movement that started to be solicited by WBTS thru letters to the congregations around 1979. We may have thought "Oh, Jehovah using computers ..... that will help with the dissemination of the Good News." It actually began the process of endless regurgitation of colorless, odorless, tasteless, imaginationless and uninspiring theocratic pap by means of the magazines, Kingdom Ministrys and other publications. The whole plan was to aid and abet the further mental imprisonment of those who either thought it was "the truth" or who were in danger of falling into that trap.

It's interesting how "the truth" really does set one "free," from the crap, bullshit, hypocrisy and forked-tongued blatherings of religious organizations.

If Government really does move against religious organizations as the Watchtower has proclaimed, it will be, NOT because those governments are necessarily evil, but because the religious organizations under fire definitely ARE evil, as all religious organizations are, by nature, and deserve to be destroyed.

    ROTFLMAO!!!

"Some worldly individuals may scoff at this, just as they did in Noah's day and Peter's day and Charles Taze Russell's day and J.F. Rutherford's day and Knorr's day and Franz's day and - yes - even OUR day."

This is a gem from page 222 of the book "CHILDREN" (1941): From the WWatchtower Bible and Tract Society.....

"Even some countries, which are under the power and control of demonism, now declare by law that jehovah's Witnesses are illegal. Such worldly organizations show complete ignorance of the purpose and power of Almighty God. No earthly government or power has any authority to declare Jehovah's Witnesses illegal; and in doing so such nation commits the rankest blasphemy and in due time shall receive a just recompense from the Lord's Executioner."

    .....and then they died.

In 1975 a crack team of publishers was sentenced to death by a judicial commiteee. They promptly escaped from the cult and now live life on the run. If you have a problem ... and if you can find them ... maybe you can contact the A--postate Team"

22 Using another person’s research for a talk or for other meeting preparation really defeats the purpose of personal study. Is it not your desire to build up your own personal faith in God’s Word? Based on personal conviction, you can then make public expression of your faith—in your talks, in comments at the meetings, and in the field ministry. (Rom. 10:10) Using another person’s research does not fit the description given at Proverbs 2:4, 5 to personally ‘keep seeking and searching for the very knowledge of God as for hid treasures.’

    ########

would this mean that JW don't have to use the research that the Boys in Writing put together and they can now do thier own

    I THINK NOT
