Another Example of Watchtower Lies EXPOSED

I thought some of you may find this interesting. It is so humorous to look into the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society's OWN literature and so blatantly see they change their mind and lie so frequently.

These are DIRECT QUOTES from their own literature. If you doubt my posting this, please check for yourself.

Now to establish a precedence that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, the corporate religous entity which provides literature and oversees Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide, believes it IS an inspired prophet, let us look at

The Watchtower April 1st, 1972 page 197 of the annual bound volume.

'They Shall Know that a Prophet Was Among Them' ***
People today can view the creative works. They have at hand the Bible, but it is little read or understood. So,does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come?

    IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET"

These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet? ... This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses. ... Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a "prophet" of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record.

    [Bold mine for emphasis]

Now if that is not enough to convince you that they feel that they are indeed inspired, let us check

    The Watchtower January 15th, 1959 pg 39-41

Down with the Old-Up with the New! ***
... but, Who will be Jehovah's prophet to the nations, to speak to them everything that He should command? Who will be the modern Jeremiah? ... So who will prophesy with his message in this time of the end of the nations of this world? ... How was the question answered? ... The fact that decides the answer to the question is, not, Do all the clergy of Roman Catholicism and of Protestantism agree that Jehovah's witnesses have been and are God's prophet to the nations? but, Who discerned the divine will for Christians in this time of the world's end and offered themselves to do it? Who have undertaken God's foreordained work for this day of judgment of the nations? Who have answered the call to the work and have done it down till this year 1958? Whom has God actually used as his prophet?

14 By the historical facts of the case Christendom is beaten back in defeat. Jehovah's witnesses are deeply grateful today that the plain facts show that God has been pleased to use them. ... It has been because Jehovah thrust out his hand of power and touched their lips and put his words in their mouths...

    [Bold mine for emphasis]

Ok, now we have substantial, credible evidence that the Watchtower Society has declared itself a prophet inspired DIRECTLY
    by God.

Now, this is what troubled me.

If one rhetorically asked themselves, do you have to be a member of a particular religion to be spared?

Let us see what the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Watchtower Society have said. Check the "You can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth" Book, which states:

    *** You Can live Forever (1982, 1990) p.255 ***
Do not conclude that there are different roads, or ways, that you can follow to gain life in God's new system. There is only one. There was just one ark that survived the Flood, not a number of boats. And there will be only one organization--God's visible organization -- that will survive the fast-approaching "great tribulation." It is simply not true that all religions lead to the same goal . . . . You must be part of Jehovah's organization, doing God's will, in order to receive his blessing of everlasting life . . . .

    [Bold mine for emphasis]

Yet, if you go to the website which is the Authorized Site of the Office of Public Information of Jehovah's Witnesses, and to their Frequently Asked Questions section. I will provide the URL conveniently for you, which is

    http://www.jw-media.org/beliefs/beliefsfaq.htm

Now, if you will scroll down to the 8th paragraph, the question posed is:

Do you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?

    Note the answer given.

No. Many millions who have lived in centuries past and who were not Jehovah's Witnesses will come back in a resurrection and have an opportunity for life. Many now living may yet take a stand for truth and righteousness before God's time of judgment, and they will gain salvation. Moreover, Jesus said that we should not be judging one another. Humans look at the outward appearance; God looks at the heart. He sees accurately and judges mercifully. God has committed judgment into Jesus' hands, not ours. —Matthew 7:1-5; John 5:22, 27.

    [Bold mine for emphasis]

This is an interesting contradiction. It seems for public-relations purposes the Borg have yet again lied to the public, hoping that misinformation would confuse the public about their true beliefs and fundamentalist ideals.

Humans look at the outward appearance; God looks at the heart.

An interesting statement coming from the "inspired prophet" because if I am not mistaken, a man with a beard is viewed in the congregation as "spiritually weak" and honest, sincere people with other religions are simply "worldly" and destined for destruction.

What hypocrites. Hopefully someone can use this information to steer a family member or loved one away from such fanatics.

Well actually the teaching that the WT is inspired wisdom directly from God is old light. New light came sometime in the '80's when it was explained to us that the WT was not inspired. Then came the emphasis on the organizaation and that as god's faithful and discreet slave they supplied our spiritual food. However, as we all know we are taught that JW's will be the only ones to survive Armageddon. I think that for PR purposes they clean it up a bit and give the answer that you found on their website. (I think this is correct. Changes are always taking place so it is hard to keep up.)

Im inclined to agree with you Dutchie. Having been disassociated for about 6 months now, I am unaware of what is the most "current" adaptation of beliefs.

I dont know that the "light" to which you refer is timed correctly though. The "You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth" book with the information mentioned in my above post is copyrighted 1990, so that would supercede the "1980's light" you refer to.

With these people, who can keep up? <smile>

However, when I was last attending meetings in summer of 2001, the "appointed" elders made it a point to emphasize the fact that the Organization was "spirit-directed" and "inspired"; therefore I felt a need to expose the falsehood.

But this raises another question. If it is his "spirit-directed" channel, or his "organization" how does it misinterpret or completely waver on doctrine. Ahhh the spin-tactic of "Old Light" and "New Light" <smirk>

I just want the real truth to be made known, and if it even saves one person from this cult, it is more than worth any effort.

    Thanks for the quotes reborn.

The funny thing is that the witnesses get the heebie jeebies when you show them things out of their own literature. It's like they view material a few years old as if it's apostate. However, if questioned about something in last weeks WT, you'll get a different response. I never understood why that was.

The reason that JWs continue to obey the "Faithful and Descreet Slave" is because they really believe that it is God's channel of communication to humans. So no matter what anyone says, they feel that if they do not obey the Slave they will incurr Gods disfavor. It has been instilled in them. Many of them see things going on that are not right, but are afraid to speak up for many other different reasons.
It will take exposure of the grandest kind to open their eyes to the real truth. When that happens and it most definitely will, the JWs will finaly see how mislead they are.
Like Jesus said, "you will know the truth and it will set you free."
