Well, sort of. Every March since we moved in to this house, we have had a Mallard couple fly to our yard daily. I totally forget about them until I look outside and there they are, waiting for bread. The kids get a kick out of it, and to tell you the truth, so do I. We have no slug problems...ever! They are so cute waddling around the grass and then one day they just never show up and we have to wait another year. They are getting spoiled, the last few days they fly in for breakfast AND dinner.
Edited to say I took this picture this morning!

    Too cute.

Yes, it is snow you are seeing. It snowed much of the day today, but didn't stick much. It is COLD though. I can't remember the last time it snowed here, this late in the year. Those ducks were so cute last night, and it was sunny! It changed overnight, so fast.

It is almost SPRING!!! Notice my new signature graphic? I can't wait. I am not a winter person.

Yesterday was such a teaser! You can see the lines in the grass from the lawnmower on Sunday. I miss the sun already.

Even my three year old looked out at the snow and said "BORING!" My five year old didn't comment.

They really come back every year? That is really neat. Birds are far more intelligent that I ever gave the credit for growing up.

When I volunteered at the San Antonio Zoo, I took care of the Water Fowl section. Every week I'd look forward to feeding the African Pygmie Geese. They were soooooo cute. And they made the cutest sound like a little ray gun or something.

I'd like to have a big pond some day and have several types of Exotic Water Fowl.

Thanks for sharing such a neat story.

I have lived here four years and the ducks have come every March. They are fun to watch. Last week my daughter were sitting on the front porch watching them when suddenly they both flew off. I couldn't see any means of communication between them but there wasn't a moments hesitation, they both flew off at the same time. Pretty neat to see them back year after year.

Sean, aren't you sick of the snow? It will be spring in two days! St. Pat's was fun. My parents, your dad and Randy and his boys all came over. Steve and your dad drank Kaliber (NA beer brewed by Guinness) and the rest of us enjoyed our Guinness along with some Irish whiskey. It was grand. How was yours?
