  While most of the world not only express concern about the damage we are doing to the environment but also actively try to conserve our dwindling resources, especially natural ones, the Society boasts of how much of our precious resources it squanders:

  There was more stuff about the millions of books being published too but I think you get the gist.

  Pastor Russel signing off: "Hey I have to quit talking to all of you. I have a Watchtower to get out. I'll be going into the rainforest to cut some wood to feed my machines.To get God's Word to everyone in the whole world is surely more important than the rainforest?"

  In other words: The Almighty God lets people cut wood from the rainforest. Then He sets up a bunch of printing presses and has a bunch of people go and distribute magazines and books?

  So blame Jehovah for destroying the rainforest.

  You'd think that in His Infinite Wisdom He can find other ways?

  Sounds like a Scam instead of a Plan.

  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........

  I seem to remember a lot of those "Publications" laying around the house and getting thrown out when I was a kid. I never hear about how much they recycle, NOW that might be a real message, OHHHHHH but wait, the world is ending, very soon, so WHO CARES at this point!!!

  Just for the Watchtowers and Awakes it's about 2,880,000 trees per years. Here's the breakdown

  90,000,000 magazines per Month
  X 12 months per year
  ----------------
  = 1,080,000,000 magazines per year
  X 32 pages per magazine
  ----------------
  = 34,560,000,000 pages per year
  / 12,000 pages per tree
  ----------------
  = 2,880,000 trees per year

  I got the 12,000 pages per tree figure from a paper industry website.

  Wow DocBob, that's more than I thought!

  Still, it doesn't matter (to them) if they screw the planet, God will sort it all out after Armageddon.

  Of course, if Armageddon doesn't come(which it won't)selfish attitudes like that will get us all screwed.
