Where do you stand?

I keep coming across posts of people who appear to be sympathetic to the JWs. Instead of calmly explaining their position, they start spewing obscenities or cursing or harass people they disagree with.

If these people were "Christian" or a "Loyal JW" they would not do these things. This leaves me confused. How can those of you who do this justify the double standard, or are you just BSing people and don't really care either way?

    Where do you stand?

i've run across the same thing. It seems to me when these people can't answer a question with a reasonable answer they resort to these tactics to deflect the issue. I guess they can justify their rudeness, because non-JW's in their minds are non-people and dont require politeness.

yeah, non-JW's are as good as dead already and 'birdfood' according to recent Watchtower articles. Why take the time to be polite?

It's also a tactic to degenerate threads that might otherwise be making good points.

People posting generic, insulting comments usually just cant think of anything better to say so they have to resort to name calling.
There are times though when it is really the posters opinion. Maybe we should post that, before we hurl the insult.
This is just my personal opinion but I think you are a _______!!!

    Seriously,
I feel nothing but sympathy for the witnesses.
They are victims just like we were.
I do feel contempt for the society that is manipulating, controlling and hurting these innocent people.
    Thats where I stand.

I always try to remember that the jw's are intolerant of opinions. You're not allowed to have an opinion (or at least not state it). When we come out of the WT, the first thing we can do to be different is become tolerant of others opinions. We don't have to agree and argument can be stimulating, but name calling is just childish - no it's jwish.

Plus, I have always noticed that the "weakest" JWs feel the need to defend said Org the most heavily.

And, of course, those "weak" Jdubs don't have the mental conditioning to either explain their point of view properly, or keep them from using rudeness and obscenities to get their point (or lack of point as the case may be) across.
