Governing Body, starting to doubt themselves?

    I was thinking...

Anyone who receives a large amount of criticism starts to doubt themself eventually.

So, unless the Governing Body is receiving power from another source (eg. Heaven, and most of us here would doubt that), then I would think that they have to start to doubt themselves.

For example, the Wizard of Oz, I'm behind this curtain here, pretending to be powerful, but I'm really just a frail old man, who has no special power. My influence is a sham. (Crossing over to the GB) Am I really receiving direction from Jehovah, it doesn't feel like I have any special insight or power from God. I mean I hardly read my Bible, and all I do is sign off on some articles from time to time.

Come to think of it, it's not the GB that matters about doubting themselves anymore, they have so little power, it's the writing and service committees.

This is what leads me to think that those responsable are either corupt or mentally deranged.
I carn't see how a normal balanced sane human would not question even more if they were in thier postion rather than just an ordinary JW.
To believe you have been chosen by God , personnaly ,but without evidence to prove it , is maybe a sign of madness.

Well lets face it though, you give away your power when you listen to someone and let them tell you what to do..

    Into,
This is true of anything you allow to control your life. I did mention that your more sensible than 'some.' At least to me.

Crazy is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

It's a mystery to me how they get anyone new on the writing staff. Suppose someone had been a devout JW for years, worked their way up through the ranks, and then were admitted to the writing staff and found out all the things that have turned us off. How can such a person stick with it rather than becoming deprogrammed?

Even if they don't believe everything they write (and I don't see how they could) they have an obligation to continue the WTBS simply because it is a corporation and many people hold an interest in this corporation and not all of those people are JW's. So they cannot make any admissions of guilt or in error because then they would be jeopardizing the continuance of the corporation. They need their members to believe that the WTBS is an infallible religious organization to keep the r&f faithful and doing what they term is "Jehovah's will".

They probably just comfort themselves with the 'we're still just imperfect men' excuse. Works every time.
