Homeless woman living at YWCA found $10k turns it over to her supervisor, who called police.

Is it not great a homeless and honest woman=priceless.

Notice she did not say......I did not keep the money BECAUSE IAM ONE OF jehovah's witnesses.

I found 10 dollars at my local convience store the other day and felt pretty good for returning it. Must feel great finding 10K and returning it.

Active JW's feel that they own the trademark on honesty, but from my experiences, non JW's are generally much more honest in everything they do.

Thanks for the feel good story Bobid, and I hope that the homeless Lady gets rewarded well for her honesty (In this life and hopefully in the next), even though that is not the reason for her turning the money in to begin with.

It would be tempting. 10 grand would solve a few financial issues for me.

It might depend how it was found. Was it in an old-lady's bag or stuffed under a bush? If it looked like it belonged to a little old lady I'd feel bad if I kept it, whereas if it looked like it was the proceeds of crime then maybe not.

I suppose too that Stephen Pinkers latest book showing how violence has been decreasing over the years (from a Global perspective, individual acts of the most appalling violence still occur) and showing how in reality NOW is the safest time in History to be alive, this book will get fulsome praise and extensive quotation by the WT too ? No ?

They do love to foster the belief, held by nearly every JW, that the World is a terrible place and getting worse.

The opposite is true.

jws think they are the only honest people in the world as a group. But there is the accounts servant that "borrows" from the congregation fund, the jw that defrauds the older jws into a false fund, or the "brothers" in Montana that rip up a sisters estate, etc.
