Jesus (1 Tim 2:5) versus the "Faithful & Discreet Slave" (Matthew 24:45)

1 Timothy 2:5 states that Jesus is the ONLY way to God.

Matthew 24:45 is the parable of the faithful and wise servant which the Watchtower conveniented converted into a PROPHECY about them to prove that the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of New York is the ONLY way to God.

And to make sure they get this point across to every JW they use a very special mental manipulation technique called... (wait for it)... ... ... REPETITION !!!

In fact notice how many times Matthew 24:45 is mentioned in the Watchtower magazine (versus 1 Timothy 2:5)...

Mentions of Matthew 24:45 in Watchtower magazine:

    50's: 179

    60's: 154

    70's: 110

    80's: 175

    90's: 240

    00's: 205

Mentions of 1 Timothy 2:5 in Watchtower magazine:

    50's: 39

    60's: 31

    70's: 70

    80's: 38

    90's: 16

    00's: 22

So there you have it... In the last 6 decades, Matthew 24:45 is mentioned 1,063 times, but 1 Timothy 2:5 is only mentioned 216 times. That's a ratio of 5 to 1. To me, this just means that the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of New York believes that they are 5 times more important than Jesus himself.

The arrogance of these self-proclamed "channels of communication" is overwhelming...

And most of the references to the verse pertain to Christ's death as a ransom sacrifice, or about Christ as a mediator for the anointed.

    Yes, very telling....

"Strictly speaking," according to the WTS, Jesus is only the mediator for the 144,000.

The "great crowd" have to rely for their salvation on their association with these "anointed brothers of Christ."

    Remember the WT's organizational chart?

JWs (even those who profess to be "anointed") are under ministerial servants...

who are under boards of elders...

    who are under circuit overseers...

    who are under district overseers...

    who are under branch offices...

    who are under Bethel...

    who are under the GB...

who used to be under the "faithful and discreet slave class" but who now ARE the "faithful and discreet slave"...

who are supposedly under Jesus Christ.

Is it any wonder, then, that the emphasis is on "Jehovah's victorious organization" and that to JWs Jesus is a figurehead with whom they have no direct relationship?

To me, two of the most prominent errors of the WTS... is this one of Mt. 24:45, and the one that EVERY person must preach "from house-to-house" in a consecutive manner based on their explanation of Acts 20:20.

I am fully convinced that at least the former GB members knew too well (and perhaps the new GV members as well) that their own interpretation of these two texts are wrong, scripturally speaking. But, they also realize, that this is how they have been able to exercise control of their subjects, and it allows for a steady income. Millions of short-sighted followers have fallen victims to this scam.

Christ himself stated that "A slave is not greater than his master, nor is one that is sent forth greater than the one that sent him." (John 13:16) It is so ironic that the JWs use this text to show that Jesus could not be greater than his Father Jehovah because he was "sent forth" by the Father, while at the same time they seem to be oblivious to the fact that the very same text indicates that ‘a slave can not be the equal in power and authority as his master.’

Yet, with one part of the mouth they preach Jesus is above the FDS, but with the other side of the mouth, they give more importance to themselves than to Jesus, taking away, so to speak, the mediatorship that only belongs to Christ... Not Mary, Not the Pope, and surely...Not the so called GB maskerading about as the FDS.

Jesus himself promised his disciples that he would be with them until the time of the end. (Mt 28:20) In his physical absence, the holy spirit would be acting on their behalf, guiding and strenghtening them along the way. No need for a frail, sinful "slave" to do all the things that Jesus and the holy spirit are more than capable to carry out.

Instead of them trying to appy Matt 24:45, a more appropriate one would be Zechariah 11:15-17

End-of-mysteries... So you're implying that the Watchtower Bible Tract Society is the "Valueless" Shepherd mentioned in Zec 11:17? That actually makes sense... Nevertheless, whether this text refers to the FDS or not, they really are VALUELESS!!!
