I've spent the afternoon at the computer, working and watching the lenticular clouds on the mountain outside my window. There have been several, they form and then drift southward. The one that's out there now is a bright pink-orange because of the sunset. It looks like a space ship on fire.

I never noticed lenticulars until I moved up here where the locals make quite a thing out of them - mostly because a lot of people around here believe in UFOs and Lemurians. I like them just because they are so unusual and the way they form is interesting. The local museum has a good display that shows how they form.
Now it looks like a perfect stack of pancakes.

It does sound beautiful and relaxing.
I have tried to paint these beautiful clouds in water colour. But it seemed like an exsaggeration of colour.
You have to be there.

I think it is -- or very close to full. Not a good night to drive up the mountain to see the stars. There's a parking lot up about 9,000 feet where there used to be a ski park. I love driving up there at night to park, sip coffee and look at stars. Lots of other people do, always some folks up there sitting in camp chairs with their hot drinks and wrapped up in blankets.
