Will An Ocean of Blood Work?

  This is a chilling subject to discuss - but will any number of
  suicides convince the Society to change? Will oceans of blood
  spilled by depressed Witnesses EVEN CATCH THEIR NOTICE?
  Or will they turn away, and simply ignore it all, quote a
  few irrelevant scriptures and mutter words about the devil
  being the cause of it all?

  How far does this have to go? I have no doubt that we will
  see increasing evidence of depression, emotional sickness,
  and mental illness associated with the organization.
  If this continues to evolve without change or intervention,
  it may lead to violence directed at perceived persecutors,
  and not just suicide.

  I can foresee more empty Awake articles with handsome
  families smiling and careful comments about suicide - crafted
  to avoid reference to Witnesses suffering. More slick
  propaganda - instead of healing.

  What will it take to wake them up? I can only pray for some kind
  of lawsuit - cash speaks to the Governing Body while spilled
  blood falls on deaf ears.

  Like most cold corporations, they will only react when they feel the $$$$ crunch.

  I can't see suicides or murders making much impact on the Society. Like you say, money and lawsuits works better.

  To be honest, I am surprised just how well this community has carried themselves and that there have been so relatively few of these tragedies.

  I think the Society manages to distance themselves effectively by simply stating that those who killed themselves were no longer Witnesses or no longer practicing the religion. These people are dead weight in the eyes of the Society anyway - people fit for destruction. No loss for them.

  Oceans of blood, deaths of children from lack of choice of some medical treatments, young men rotting in jails becasue of abstention from alternative service...

  Such are the things that are bad publicity, which the Society can't get its fill of. I hope we NEVER forget those faces on the front of that infamous AWAKE.

  No, it will never be enough!!! What will make a difference? Cutting off the supply of money. Which is obviously happening. Hahaha!!!

  I actually believe that the WTS revels in the blood of it members and former members. If you're a faithful 'hovah and die, well, you're standing for the "truth". If you're an "evil apostate" and die, well, you got what you deserved for leaving the "truth".

  So, the "ocean of blood" is perfectly acceptable to the WTS.

  I don't really like the analogy of the Society to a Corporation. The Society is far more corrupt and less responsive.

  Most successful corporations have learned to be proactive, watching trends and early warning signs, so as to adjust their business strategy appropriately and early. Most corporations have a methodology for soliciting comments, suggestions, and feedback from their customers and employees. Most corporations do not forbid and discredit any form of complaint or diversity.

  Successful organizations tap into the skills of persons at all levels. They watch and listen carefully, then adapt early.

  The Society is mired in its inability to change, and its refusal to accept any sort of input from those not at the top. 50% of all JW's (women) are institutionally forbidden for participating in any sort of management function. No comments or suggestions are nurtured from the rank and file, in fact they are not even tolerated.

  In this environment, they will continue to atrophy.

  The only hope for the Society, in the long run, is for a single visionary to sieze control of the organization and totally reform it, turning it mainstream.

  Actually, I shouldn't be giving them this advice for free. I personally don't give a rat's ass about reform. In fact, I hope they stay stupid and continue to self destruct.
