For not having candy or treats to give the little beggars when they hit him up with "Trick or treat?!"

A really TRUE Christian would give a tract about Satan or the demons, or at least a quick sermon about how much God hates what they are doing.

I, on the other hand, apologised. My wife is still very active and a heartfelt apology was the best I could do...but it's progress!

BTW how do you like my costume? I'm dressed as genitalia

Why? I'm a "true" Christian (whatever that means) and I celebrate Halloween...

I'm guessing that you were never an active JW

I was for 30 years. I just hid like a "worldly" person, and didn't answer the door for trick or treaters. Well, I'm off to trick or treat now.

It's a fine point. You have to see the humor in it.

Stillin, I remember the days of hiding in the dark with the outdoor porch light off hoping the kiddies would just pass by the house. It is just so stupid when I look back. There actually are some religious fundies that do hand out anti-hallowe'en tracts (can't remember which crazy bunch) I don't get why people who don't celebrate have to try and ruin for those who do.

BTW Love your costume, maybe slap on a fig leaf so you don't get arrested! LOL Leslie

We rarely answered the door when we were JW's, but last night I was glad I did, the little lad was from just along the street, dressed in a mask and black clothes, but I still recognised who he was and gave him a big box of special Cornsh Fudge, made by Cornish Pixies you know !

He is a "special needs" person, a sweet kid, and seemed very nervous, a bit like when I went DtoD at his age, how heartless it would have been to not answer when we were obviously at home.

My still-in kids gave out candy last night and had fun doing so.

Had a woman in a hall I went to that had a big poster on her door explaining to children why she didn't celebrate, inviting them back any other time for candy. I'm sure the 5-9 yr olds were impressed.

No, a really true Christian...as opposed to a JW Christian...would know perfectly well that this is children having fun. They would not pretend to themselves or anyone else that it is demonic, in the sense that it came from the devil and is opposed to God, becqause, anyway, a really true Christian would put everythng into the hands of Jesus and proceed accordingly, being nice to the children and going along with the game, knowing that that is all it is.

A really true Christian would get things in proportion, remembering that Jesus loved the little children. Not like the Jehovah's Witnesses, where elders can make all the right noises as they "conduct" a Watchtower reading the latest propaganda from the GB, and then, afterwards, bully a three year old who has got down out of his seat.

It happens. I've seen it. It is nothing to do with being a Christian.
