Since when is the so called "New Light" (about the FDS) published on the News-section of the officially website jw.org instead of in the study edition of the Watchtower?

The WTS use of internet has dramatically changed.

Strange effect of this new "marketing" policy is that the annual meeting news at jw.org only available is for English speaking people with a computer and an internet connection. If you're a poor witness living in the dessert of Eritrea, the news will reach you some years later.

But, conclusion of this topic, this is the first time that new light is officially published beyond the Watchtower publication.

    Well, nothing has really changed.

Previously, the "new light" was published first on JWN - also "only available for English speaking people with a computer and an internet connection". Like with the FDS doctrine change, they only made the status quo official.

That is interesting. Maybe they're trying to sneak that one in, almost like a bloodless coup.

Yep....What with the December K M telling them to use the internet [jw.org] in the Ministry to show the H/holders - it is definitely a sea change of attitude.

Just as T V used to be dismissed as "Satan's gogglebox" in the 50's/60's so they are changing with the times. What say they will encouraging a limited social networking to give in the N/Homes to the group leader and send in reports?

Perhaps they want to print fewer copies????

In the 20s Radio was letting the World influence your home. Then they start up a radio propaganda station, WBBR.

Television was the Eye of Satan in your home. They recently put an ad on TV.

VHS players were not to be sought as they were a sign of materialism. Then they start bringing out VHS propaganda.

Ditto for DVDs, mobile phones, the internet, e-readers and tablet computers at the kingdumb hell.

Now they want you to use your mobile out in service to go on the internet. Download the litterature to your ipad.

Why am I thinking of the scene near the beginning of "Gone with the Wind"?

Evening. A bell starts to ring. One of the slaves shouts "quittin' time". Big Sam upbraids him: "Ah's de Foreman at Tara - Ah says when it's quittin' time!" Immediately he shouts "Quittin' time!"

They are still a long ways away from Web 2.0. We won't be seeing official social networking ever, I don't think. Information control just doesn't work on the net.

The WTS remains hopelessly behind the times.

It's a great way to get the new light out there. Then, 6 months later, when it comes out in the Watchtower, it won't be so new. Much easier to digest by the masses. After all, nothing really changed all that time.
