How can JWN members, help JWN, and conflicted Jehovah's Witnesses?

This morning, after cleaning my history, and cookies, I used a new ISP to check search results for "Jehovah" and "Jehovah's Witnesses". Jehovahs-Witness.net, JW Facts, JW Survey had all fallen to page 3 or lower in search results for Google and Bing. Not bad, but not as good as last year when I did the same test.

No doubt WTBTS is spending big $$ with SEO services, and the new "pamphlet" sized magazine tells 7M+ JW subscribers to visit the new Watchtower "Official" website.

I did notice yesterday a Google alert for a JWN thread because "Jehovah" was in the thread title. This morning I noticed not once did "Jehovah" or "Watchtower Bible and Tract Society" appear in the 49 most recent threads. So I would like to humbly suggest that whenever possible, members add "JEHOVAH" or "WATCHTOWER BIBLE and TRACT SOCIETY" spelled out so those little search engine spiders can help spread the "good news" more effectively.

    my 2 cents.

Also perhaps Simon (or other computer pros) would share with us what we could all do to assist helping the site generate a little more income. Would clicking through on pop-ups help? Something else?

That is a really good idea, Balaamsass.

I suspect it might help to include Jehovah from time to time in posts as well. And Jehovah's Witness.

I think we can all get inventive with this!

I'm incorporating some SEO best practices for the new site version so hopefully that will improve. Ultimately though, the WTS can pay to rank highly and they probably get a lot of traffic from current members so the ranking may be legitimate (although I suspect it's more because they pay).

Really, the best thing people can do is just have good discussions. Both from a content and SEO point of view AND making the site appealing and approachable for newly exiting or doubting witnesses it really is the most effective thing.

I'd prefer people only click on ads only when they are genuinely interested in the product or service being advertised and not because they think it will assist the site (Google are very good at figuring out and filtering out anomalous clicks so it really doesn't help).
