I remember my in laws basically saying just that when we told them we were becoming dubs. We had just had our first baby, and they never got even one christmas with him. my father in law died in 2005, while we were still deep in the borg, and he never got to spend one holiday or birthday with my kids. I can't get that time back and it just kills me.

I have PostSecret in my rss feeds, and saw that in amongst yesterday's Sunday Secrets. It made my skin crawl.
I've often thought about setting up a site called JW Secrets where JWs could anonymously post their feelings in a similar format. It's on the to-do list....
