I just see this celebration as a time when freinds and family have the opportunity to get together and enjoy each others company ,having a meal ,drinks , and social intercourse .

Happy New Year to you Smiddy. Hope you had a happy Christmas time enjoying the company of family and friends, I know I did. I don't think you're a hypocrite. We take what we want from the world and leave what we don't. Those of us who are not Christians simply profess to be human and join in with human celebrations.

That's part of the joy of being free. We can choose to participate in festivities in a way that's comfortable for us. The holiday season means different things to different people but no matter what our beliefs are, it is great to get together and experience the warmth of time with family and friends. I see Christmas as a magical time for everyone, no matter who we are, no matter what we believe, to share in the spirit of giving, comraderie, forgiveness and Love. There is nothing hypocritical about it at all. In fact, we sould be having Christmas (Spirit) every day!!!
