  I have been coming to this place for 5 years. I hope it hasn't all been wasted time.

  I hear a lot of the community - people I really liked to come here and read from have been banned in the last few weeks because of some sort of clash with hard-cored religious people who were spared.

  Hey, sooner.

  I was musing earlier today how the big and the little and the nondescript events of the day all matter -- if anything matters. We were once programmed to eschew virtually all activity unrelated to Kingdom interests. I, for one, am through with incessant, meaningless doing that works against me and my loved ones.

  Oh, yeah . . . guilt, too.

  Simply being works for me.

  Peace and contentment.

  If there is anything I've learned from being a JW and being on JWN - it is to reach out to people you think you might connect with and form a deeper friendship than can be gained in a shared community. Don't leave your personal choices of friendships to be decided by a third party.

  The stronger your ties with friends are - the stronger you are... and that will go beyond JW or JWN and is never wasted.

  I guess it depends what you come here for. I've enjoyed the support, the new perspectives. I've learned an incredible amount from other posters here.

  I don't engage in the dialogue with hard-core religious posters but I think it's really important that there are posters who are willing to challenge them. We escaped from JW nuttiness, and we need many perspectives on our healing journey.

  Compared to what? Would you rather have spent that time trying to recruit people to study WT litteratrash?

  Did you just have a birthday, is that why you're pondering?

  I have been coming here for several years, and I have spent far too long reading on here really, I should in all honesty have been doing other things.

  But this site and the people on it, have been of immeasurable value to me.

  At one point it was literally a life-saver, I was in such a dark place and contemplating ending my life, without this place I would never have sought proper therapy.

  Also it has made me a better person, because it has forced me to be responsible for my own thoughts and actions I am now much more aware of the need to make the World a better place.

  Wasted time ? Hardly.
