On this new years eve, I'd like to start out by wishing all of you a happy New year and that it will be better in every way for you.

With that being said, what are some of the highlights of 2012 for you? Any major life changes? Any disappointments? Did you receive any good news that actually exceeded your expectations in 2012?

Feel free to comment about anything that made a impact on you or your family over the last year.

Personally I had many good things happen over the year such as getting to meet up with some of my high school buddies that I hadn't seen in over 20+ years (was awesome time), going to a couple extended family members weddings, talking in person to a few more ex-JW's and finally going to my first casino. We got three new dogs this year. Also this was the first year in quite a while that I didn't have a very close relative pass away in death.

And at the time of my typing this even my favorite NFL team (Atlanta Falcons) are/is doing great and hoping to see them in the Super Bowl. (crossing fingers)

I've had some negative things happen over the year as well, a few health issues but nothing too serious.

One very sad part of my year was when I found out about our friend on here Oompa(Eric) taking his life. I've thought about him many times and how that I'll miss his Avatar popping up in the next year saying something witty, funny or even mentally stimulating at times.

Anyways I'll leave off with that for now but may add more to the thread later.
    Now it's your turn.

What would you say about the year in review 2012?

It was a good and a challenging year. My son married this year, we spent Sunday together at the San Diego Auto Show, one of our rituals going back many years. My sweet little 4 year old grandson had successful surgery for his hearing and with a good speech therapist he is now talking up a storm. I semi-retired in November and am looking forward to participating more fully in many of the causes I feel strongly about and support. Our environmental group, san clemente green.org, lined up actor and fellow environmentalist Ed Begley Jr. to be our guest speaker at the one year anniversary of the closing-down of the dangerous San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant, We Did It!

Did I mention we Liberals had a very successful presidential campaign

    Happy New Year to all!!
