Did Rutherford Really Have Rat Bites On His Body? Dead For Three Days Before Found?

I heard Rutherford was dead for three days before anyone found him, has this been verified by outside sources? The rat bites creep me out, how could anyone leave a saint like him to die alone?

I have heard that many times in the past; how true it is I have no idea.
However, as I understand it, Rutherford did not live alone at Beth Sarim, there were a couple of housekeepers or caretakers living there also. So where were they at this time? Difficult to imagine him living totally alone as he was seriously ill. Whilst the property was in a rural area at that time, I find it difficult to believe the property was infested.
As for Rutherford being a saint......
