Does "Spiritism" Offer Hope?

When you are a JW, you are given a view of spiritism that is like a Jack Chick tract but without the unintended humor.

When I began to read channeled "information", I was surprized by how positive, optimistic and often loving it seemed to be. Naive? Yes.... Often silly? Yes, also - Outright baloney? Yup! but usually cheery and compassionate.

My point is this: if there is a Collective Unconscious (Jung) or anything similar out there, it generally doesn't look demonic. People who clear their minds to meditate are among the least likely people I know to hear voices telling them to prep their gun collection.

The above is an example. I think it's funny that 'Jesus' takes days off and gets channeled under an alias, too (AKA "Yeshua").

Nevertheless, - baloney aside - I think it's wonderful that the psychic/psychological background of so many people who hand over their consciousness to "Ra/Michael/St. Germain/Jesus/The Blessed Virgin Mother/Pleaidians/Sirians/ etc" are given to be so positive, endemically.

It's not like they were bringing up Cthulhu !

And this also goes back to Buddha - when he vowed not to get up until he got enlightenment, the message he got was dominated by compassion, not heartless evil.

What a refreshing contrast to the 'truth' in that humans generally have a psychic background that's positive in tone rather than harshly demonic.

In my first glimpse into the other side, i got total acceptance, congratulations and 'you finally did it' kind of stuff. I view that as different from my subconscious, or even the collective subconscious. I view the collective subconscious as starting from the center, me, and going out radially to those closest to me, then farther away, and so on. Imo, it's mainly the living. Those who have passed are another level, so to speak. But that's just my view.

Ps, ultimately, everyone and everything is connected. Who can be totally aware of all that? Part of the minds job seems to be to close down awareness. For most people, it shuts it all out completely.

Metatron, interesting topic. (lol@ Jack Chick tracts, saw some and he's a real piece of work)

Spiritism likely offers a hope much like Christianity as the practicer believes in something other than the physical world. With Christians most believe in an afterlife with Christ whereas many spiritists believe in ascending to a different plane of existence once the physical body dies. I have spoken to Wiccans and also two of my best friends are into Shamanism. Both groups tend to follow the creed of doing no harm to others and have a definite connection with their physical surroundings and also a strong belief in the spirit world. My friends believe in the higher power or force if you will and try to live in harmony with that.

I agree Satanus that mind tries to shut down this awareness. My very best friend and I have a connection of some sort. I can be at home and will drop everything because I know she needs me to come help her. When I arrive at her place she always tells me that she was asking for me to come. It is weird, I can't explain it but it has happened too many times to be a co-incidence. Whether this is Christ/holy spirit directing me to her or the collective consciousness, is up to interpretation. I do believe we are all connected in some higher way that is just not understood at this time.

Contrary to WT belief, the people I know are very peaceful and definitely not the evil stereotype that is used to portray them. (I hope I did not miss the point you were trying to make) Leslie

I've been exploring the whole metaphysical/new age side of things and found that practitioners are very centered and balanced. I don't fully understand chakras, auras, spirit guides, and stuff like that, but I'm open to it. There's no bloodthirsty, vengeful god in any of it. Plus, there's no pressure to attend meetings or otherwise spend your time promoting it - you can do "new-age-lite" and still be accepted and loved.

The whole doctrine of an earthly hope is a result of spiritism.

Joe Rutherford channeled that doctrine from invisible spirit beings, as it never existed before 1935.

Watchtower Jehovah's Witness Governing Body practice spiritism channel invisible spirit beings
