Haha! I asked a co-worker who is not familiar with Jehovah's Witnesses how would he define the term "annointed remnant."
He replied "Isn't that was John Bobbit was left with after Lorena took a knife to him.?

Donny:
It's not surprising that "wordlys" do not know JW terms. Despite 1.7 hours of "evangelism" each year, the JWs have not even communicated the basic, fundamental doctrines of their "Truth".
Ask your worldly friend(s) what JWs believe and see what you get:
NO Jesus
NO Christmas
NO Birthdays
NO Medical Care
They won't mention paradise earth, living forever, no trinity, no hellfire, no immortal soul.
The JWs preaching campaign has accomplished NOTHING but to piss off millions of potential converts.
("Greatest educational work in mankind's history." Yeah right!)
Doc
For most people JWs are irrelevant and only brought to mind if there is an unexpected caller at the door or they see a newspaper report regarding the blood issue.
Most people don't have a clue, which for the most part is a good thing. It means that they haven't "touched" (ruined) that many lives.
Desirous and Amelia, you are correct in that very few "outsiders" have any idea what the JW's believe other than the ones you mentioned. I have caused two fellow co-workers here to stop their studies after I gave them a brief history on the org and what they could expect in the future.
One lady said "You mean they will expect me to believe that God chose them as the only true Christians in 1919? They have never mentioned that." When she did later ask her study guide if that was the case, after a long dance and moonwalk, he admitted to it.
She replied "Well as of 2012 my brain has chosen me to end this study. Thank you and good evening."
Its plain cult mind control when you step back and look at it.
Loading the language.
"spiritually weak"
"reaching out"
"inactive"
"in good standing"
"DFd" "DA'd" "private reproof" "public reproof"
The ex-Mormon board is similar, so many terms that its frustrating to understand exactly what they are saying.
