Request for Information: Wathctower World War 2 compensation

  Hi there all,

  I have a youtube channel and make videos from time to time.

  I recieved a Personal Message today in which the person asked me for some information:

  "I had an email from someone saying that after WW2, the JW's campaigned for and received financial compensation for the Witnesses that died in the camps. And that the monies were not used for the victims families. This is known are "dead peasant" cover, where a business insures expendable people for the cost of recruiting replacements and bolstering executive bonuses."

  For myself I have not heard about this before. Can anyone provide me with some information or point me in the right direction?

  Yes it's true, I did a thesis on ' Jehovah'si Witnesses - A Representation of Martyrdom in the Holocaust' - In the 1990s when victims were making claims against the atrocities. The 'ol WTBS joined in and put their claims in. I think they made a collective claim and it seems the money went towards the World Wide Work? Go to the Holocaust Memorial Museum sites for info.

  I just read the Swissbankclaims doc from 1999 and the Watchtower claimed they would use it for promoting Holocaust awareness.

  Now the purple triangle was made in 1991, so I can only assume that what the Watchtower means by "holocaust awareness" is subsequent references to the holocaust in the pages of the Watchtower post 1999. So the assumption of the funds being used by the Watchtower by themselves is probably correct.
