Heavenly Life Anyone?

Not the norm is it for a JW? Basically we told that were not going there even if we thought/felt differently.

1935 seems to have been a threshold of sorts with the id'ing of the 'great crowd' of Revelation 7 as an earthly group. However is that what you think? Not saying I have the answers but I believe the position to be far from clear cut.

I wouldn't like to be on the wrong side of this rebuke!

    *** Rbi8 Matthew 23:13 ***
13 “Woe to YOU, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because YOU shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men; for YOU yourselves do not go in, neither do YOU permit those on their way in to go in.

    Any thoughts?

Personally, it is my desire to go to heaven, it's what the Lord called us to do, when we consevrate our lives to him, we give up all life rights, as he becomes our head, Jesus and the apostles said nothing about his followers living on earth forever, that does not measn, I do not believe in a restored earth where righteousness is to dwell, no, but the Church, Jesus footstep followers are to be in heaven the rest of mankind will live on earth.

Well RR it is quite understandable, all the CGS point to heavenly life.

The old 'WTS' understanding is interesting

'as we have previously seen, there is a second class of saved ones selected during this age--the Great Company (`Rev. 7:9-14`) "whose number no man knoweth, out of every nation and kindred and tongue," who shall serve God in his temple and before the throne in contradistinction to the Bride, who will be in the throne and members, or living stones, of the temple.'

    From Studies in the Scriptures.

These ones, great crowd, would be in heaven and this understanding would have been current when the FDS was 'appointed' in 1919.

    Hello RR

Who are 'the rest of mankind'?

-Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it-

The "rest of mankind," are those who are not of the Church class. It is my understanding that Lord is calling out a "people for his name." These are a special people who will reign with him in heaven, the little flock, they will be kings and priest with Christ. "Many are called, few are chosen." These are the chosen ones.

The rest of mankind consist of those of the world, everybody else, who did not make that sacrifice to walk the way of the cross. It is not that those who are Christian are better, it is simply that they have been chosen for a purpose, that purpose when completed will benefit all of mankind.
