Notice: I think these are questions for Christians...

Okay, Dub's have big plans for the future: preaching, Armageddon, paradise on earth, perfect people...

Does anyone here believe that whatever is right now, is exactly the way God wants it?

AND if Jesus is going to come in the future and solve all of our problems with peace on earth, what was the point of him coming the first time?

Do you think a loving God who created humans in his image to feel the same emotions he feels wants us to live like this!!!!!!

If it pains us to see a family member sick or die, how much more so does Jehovah God, who takes notice of even the little sparrows that fall to the ground.

Of course he doesn't want us to live in a world of hate, insecurity, unrest, sorrow, sickness, death...

That's why he's purposed from the beginning to redeem us....

One thing that became very clear to me when I left the JWs was that this is life. This is not a dress rehearsal, this is it. As witnesses we lived for what comes next, not what we have now. I'm sure whatever comes next will be better, but for now, this is life. Enjoy.

These questions seem to be easy answers for any religious group because there answers give GOD a reason for thinking and easialy relateable as he almost appears human and also makes mistakes!

No one knows for sure what God or the Supreme Being wanted or wants, but we are humans and this is our life now, you have to live it, it is not a preamble for the future, it is now! I hate seeing people not living now because they think something bigger and better is coming. I personally think we can expect something better eventually. I believe that being human is something our souls were meant to experience and it is teaching our souls something. I think you have to get in contact with your inner spirit and find inner peace in order to really be in contact with you soul. That is hard to do in todays world, but it can be done, even for the busy people. Whatever you believe, take time to live this life before it is too late....

    VioletAnai:

It seems unsettling that God got all other creation right (since I was told somewhere along the line that cats aren't going to be resurrected and therefor they must be perfect?)and we are the only thing that messed up. If God knew that we were going to mess up, why did he create us ? Or why did he create us so that it would be impossible for us to resist sin?

It is also very unsettling to me, that God finds us such an obstacle to perfect. We are talking about "Almighty God" here! Does it not occur to you that if he wanted everything to be "okay" so bad, he would do it in a much faster way? None of this crap about he's waiting for more to find his "true religion." If he really felt that bad about whatever is going on now, he'd change it right now. Do we forget that God is ALL POWERFULL? If he really is SOO POWERFULL he would click his "fingers" and everyone would be converted. It's retarded to think God has to obey any "laws" or go through this kind of legal process to get this stuff done.

"That's why he's purposed from the beginning to redeem us...." -- Seems like a little predestination there...Are you sure this is what you want to say?

(I have answers to my questions...but I'm wondering if anyone else does.)

    forgetmenot, great points.

If I'm not mistaken, according to the Society, another reason God allows all this stuff to happen (besides the infamous "bet with the Devil"), is so that in "the New World", when God automatically destroys people who disobey him, we won't be able to say that we didn't know how bad not living under God's rulership is, and that rejecting God would clearly show that we reject "God's sovereignty" inspite of first hand knowledge, so we are truly culpable for our actions.

Of course, it's quite possible that God could have taught us the lesson of disobedience in a more humane way. He could have just held Adam & Eve as an eternal example to the rest of perfect human kind (he would allow the two to have perfect children), as what would be the result of disobeying God. Everytime a perfect human thougt of sinning, they would think of what happened to Adam& Eve. If some other person decided to sin, they too would be added to the list of idiots, and would further reinforce the resolve of perfect humans not to sin. I'm sure few people would rebel under such circumstances, and it would not require as much death and suffering as God's current model does.

Go therefore and baptize the people in the name of the father and of the son... what the hell, we just need to bring up the yearbook numbers!
