  "Gaining Jehovah's Friendship" song carries what deceptive message with a medocre melody:

  Is the Jehovah that exists in the minds of the Governing Body worthy of a childs friendship? Well in thier mind Jehovah will put little children to death if thier parents don't follow the leadership of the Governing Body. The death threat and some pie in the sky hope of a better life in paradise is all the that the Governing Body's Jehovah has to offer, not very appealing and so it is a stretch of the imagination that anyone would want to sincerely be Jehovah's friend out of mutual unconditional love and comfort, but mainly to save one's own neck from being killed at Armegeddon.

  So little kiddies become Jehovah's friend or bird food at armageddon it's your choice brought to exclusively from the minds of the warp and twisted Governing Body on a power trip.

  I the idea behind the song:

  1st verse:

  Jehovah requires obediance, but not mentioned in the song is the death threat if your not obediant. The thought conveyed in the lyrics is friendship with Jehovah very conditional and dependence on following the Governing Body leadership(all though not stated in these words).

  2nd verse:

  A series of 4 questions about who qualifies to be Jehovah's friend, next followed by 4 positive statement as qualifiers for friendship, the implication is that not meeting any 1 of these 4 qualifiers keeps one in the camp of jehovah's enemy.

  3rd verse:

  Benifits of friendship extolled by reason of the fact Jehovah's the greatest darn God there ever was and you should try your best to befriend him.

  I found it very hard to love the god of Watchtower theology. How can you love somebody aiming a cosmic gun at your head? At Armageddon, either he would pull the trigger, or he wouldn’t—you could never be certain until the time came. One thing was certain: seven billion people were going to be slaughtered without any future hope of coming back. Often I wondered why I should live and all these should die…what terrible thing did they do?

  The god of Watchtower theology was one to be feared and obeyed…if you didn’t want the cosmic trigger to be pulled at Armageddon. Of course, like a deranged carjacker holding one hostage, you never knew what little thing might set him off.

  Given that death is the alternative, that's kind of a given, isn't it?

  Great song, there. I guess when I became a bit cynical of it all, I finally understood...that this is just one big ultimatum. Obey or die. That's generally not a good sign for the friendship in the long term, you know? The big question that lingers in a dynamic like this is...what happens when he finally gets everything he wants from you? Will there be anything left of who you were before? Or will he decide to change the rules again and then kill you for failing to adjust to Theological Twister? Ah...fun stuff.

  Yes, friendship with this god=I won’t kill you if you do exactly what I say, and that means (in the upper echelons of the Org): “Pioneer or Die!” The god of Watchtower theology is bipolar and his friendship ultra-conditional and sensitive--one has to walk on eggshells not to get on his bad side.

  Of course, it is said "God is Love", but Love is redefined until it has very little emotion left. Real love that has emotion behind it is presented as “sentimentalism”.
