Johnny Witness has been deep in the organization for a long time.
He might work in the Service Dept. or serve as a Circuit Overseer
or work with subscriptions.
Recently, Johnny's been worried. He sees the cutbacks, the
Bethel pleas to save money by turning out lights, and hears
the rumors about downsizing and outsourcing. He also hears
about the neverending exodus of young people out of congregations.
He tries to put it out of his mind - but the cold fears
keep coming back - What if I had to leave and get a job - IN
THE WORLD? Years of reading little more than the Awake have
left him a lot more paranoid and scared about what ordinary
life in the 'world' must be like.
He keeps telling himself - it'll be OK, the Watchtower always
pulls through somehow. They've always won lawsuits before, right?
He keeps hoping that, he's secure somehow, that if things
start to crumble, the Society will simply retrench itself
out in Paterson. He'll have a nice room and office for the
rest of his life, out in a country club setting.
Will Johnny make it to Paterson Pastures?
Maybe yes
Maybe no
stay tuned......
metatron (should Johnny keep his resume updated?)
