"because it refines us" - whenever this comes up it would drive me nuts. here we 1/10 of 1% of the human population trying to do what we think is right . and suposedly we need to be refined further? is'nt that what the 1000 years is for? [ i'm sure the the brothers in Malawi are much better for it]

Perhaps Governments could refuse to make compensation payments to those they have tortured because "persecution is good for you". Maybe the WBTS is telling it's abuse victims they should be grateful for being persecuted as they're "being refined"? Great example of cult logic mmxiv

that's assuming the 1000 years "millennium" is future
Is it possible we are living in a symbolic "millennium" NOW since Penticost ?
After all, I think 1000 years is ONLY mentioned once in the bible in revelation! A very symbolic book ??!!??
If the so called "annointed" in JW theology are perfected in Christ NOW in ONE life time or less (1, 2 , 70 years? ) to immortality, WHY would it take one thousand years to perfect a "lesser creation" ("Great crowd, in JW theology") and no immortality ????

Then why do they fight it in the courts? Is it not good and a sign of the last days?
