Well, as many of you know, my wife has been pretty wishywashy about the whole Witness thing. She no longer attends meetings, but this year expressed interest (to my horror) in the Memorial. LAST Night, my family and I celebrated Passover (no, we're not Jewish, but we enjoy the holiday, especially giving the Passover Seder (meal) a Christian spin.
At one point in the Passover, the Afikomin, a portion of the Unleaven bread, is passed around and all present eat of it. It is supposed that this was the portion of the meal where Jesus said, "This is my body" We did this last night, and my wife ate the Matzah. Again when we came to the forth cup of wine drank, the Cup of Redemption (the cup Christ said "Take this all of you and drink it") we passed a cup of wine and my wife drank it.
ANYHOW, later in the evening my wife expressed regret that she couldn't attend this year's memorial due to work. I reminded her that she has just participated in a memorial, and that not only was it on the right night (as opposed to the JW's always being one day off), but that she had also partaken of the elements. The look on her face was PRICELESS.
