I feel bad saying this to all of you poor ol' stay at homes who may be experiencing cold winter weather, but we're in Hawaii for a few days before heading to Austrailia. Last evening we were doing the stroll along the beach walk and happened upon one of those JW literature tables I had only heard about up until now. There was a young Japanese couple looking at the literature as we passed. I must say the pretty young lady tending the stand looked so nice and presentable and the literature looked much kinder and gentler than it was when we left the org four years ago. No photos of destruction, atom bombs blowing up the world or people being held at knife point by some drugged crazed mugger. I could see how someone might be lulled into checking out her wares. Maybe we are seeing a new approach that is moving away from the old die hard days of the 1975 end of the world era. My hope, for the sake of my family thats still in,is that one day JWs will be able to be allowed to have a relationship with god without the need for the fear tactics, servitude to an organization or having their personal lives policed so much.

    Aloha!

I think all cults put on a happy face to the public. Just like the words of the ministry of propaganda at HQ when the press asks them questions. Try to question anything once you are in, that is the ugly side. The serect star chamber JC's. Even when they have come to my door not knowing I am a former JW I have to push to even get them to answer questions they know the answer too when I ask if I will be destroyed at the end. They dance around like little chickens and have to point them to what the watchtower has said about me. It is funny cause it is then they have to leave for some kinda important appointment.
