Anyone else notice in the Jeremiah book the last couple of weeks that they are really coming down hard on having non-jw friendships? Like really hard, comparing them to Jeremiah's time where he was thrown in stocks, down a well, etc. by people of his time. What is with that? Are they implying that some of our "wordly" friends will do the same to us?
This plus increasing hardline against higher education... its like someone in the writing dept. has some pet peeves to get off his chest. Idiots.
Yes I definitely noticed, but honestly my "worldly" friends have been the only thing keeping me going.
I have non-jw friends who will give me the clothes off their back regardless of my opinions or beliefs, I'd rather have these friends than any JW.
Additionally, many "worldly friends" have gone to war and have given their lives for the freedoms excercised by the Watchtower. I can't say the Watchtower would do the same for their neighbor.
