Has anybody ever urged the GB to e-x-p-l-a-i-n...?

Okay, GB big boys, splain yerselves!

Exactly HOW does Jehovah g-u-i-d-e the writing of the Watchtower?

You've stated you are NOT inspired. Okay.....

Is somebody slain in the spirit like a Pentecostal revival? No?

Do you hear a ringing inside your collective head and an idea pops out? No?

Do you all get together...pray...daydream and shout: Eureka? No?

Do you have any actual EVIDENCE of being guided other than the usual cop-out: "EVIDENTLY.."?

I clearly remember being a neophyte sheep listening to a JW instruct me about what an "anointed" person is.

"God's spirit lets them know they are anointed." That was the explanation.

    I asked what it meant.

"They JUST know." That was the "in depth" follow up.

So, this prompts me to wonder what difference there is between being delusional, hallucinating, hearing voices in your head and being "anointed"?

Just because YOU are convinced of god's guidance doesn't mean THE REST OF US should be equally convinced.

So, I'm asking politely: E-X-P-L-A-I-N how Jehovah guides the Watchtower Society.

Obviously you THOUGHT WRONGLY when it turned out teachings needed "adusting".

    Were you not listening?

    Did Jehovah mumble?

Did you lose your internet connection to heaven?

Clearly being WRONG is more of a rebuttal than a proof.

How many times has somebody you know said, "I just have a funny feeling I should buy a lottery ticket!"? They buy it. The don't win. The "feeling" was wrong.

So, was it LIKE THAT? Did you "just get a funny feeling" that turned out to be self-deception?

Ray Franz wrote a book titled IN SEARCH OF CHRISTIAN FREEDOM.

It becme pretty clear from descriptions of GB meetings that there was an informal business atmosphere involved in running the religion.

No actual ritual was conducted. No Urim or Thummim. No casting of lots. There was no sacrifice and follow up smoke ascension.

Can it be true--YOU GUYS JUST MAKE STUFF UP and assume you are being led?

In other words: YOU GUESS and find out you are WRONG so you GUESS AGAIN and call it "New Light!"

Is there anything to distinguish GB leadership from any other denomination or church? Oh--wait--you say the word: Jehovah!

    Does that work the magic?

Apparently not. Too many wacky bad guesses followed those prayers for the last century of your leadership.

    You know what I think?

I think you CANNOT explain because you have NO idea.

Maria Russell had the wild idea about the faithful and discreet slave and Russell bought in to it and Rutherford ran with it.

    It is kerfuffle.

    It is poppycock.

    It is stuff and nonsense.

BUT IT IS ALL YOU HAVE that stands between you in your oh-so-important leadership......and....just any other old white guys.

I think the actual hard and fast true answer is:

You people are just passing GUESS out of your puckerhole and calling it Truth!

Frankly, I'm pissed you still get away with it.

    You should be ashamed!

I asked and both admitted they did not receive HS as an individual revealing what was new. They functioned as a group, using the bible, and praying....sound familiar, pretty much how they say elder bodies operate. They point to Acts 15 and how God revealed it to the "GB" regarding circumcision.

But I don't know how often the elders get an agenda from the PO/COBOE before the meeting and are allowed to select points and prepare ahead of time. My husband said it was more an exercise in complaining about the brother with too long sideburns and the sister with dresses that were too tight. One brother prepared for the elders' meeting looking up scriptures and another long-time elder held up the manual and said "this is the book that guides us."

One said he didn't know what the food was until it appeared on his table in his room at Bethel..............

Okay, GB big boys, splain yerselves!

Exactly HOW does Jehovah g-u-i-d-e the writing of the Watchtower?

The way I understood their explanation, he guides it by holy spirit because the Governing Body reads the Bible and the holy spirit practically floats out of the book and guides their minds. They cited Acts 28:25 where the holy spirit "Spoke" to the early elders... through Isaiah. Apparently they read Isaiah and it just spoke to them!!

It's kind of like how some people get inspired when they read books by Wayne Dyer or Deepak Chopra. The words simply speak to them!

Of course, anyone could get guided by the Bible in their own way. In fact all self-proclaimed Christian leaders do. Funny thing, they all make the Bible say what they want it to say. And people believe whatever comes out of their mouths is divine wisdom.

What is a confidence swindle but being able to persuade people you are authorized to perform some beneficial deed for them which, it turns out, you cannot perform. However, the confidence man enriches himself in the process.

Perhaps this is the sort of "confidence" we should have in the governing body.

    any questions?

To question the GB and their expressed theology is perceived at least to the GB and their mental slaves the JWS, that would be

recognized as being spiritually weak and disrespectful toward god himself.

You don't question the almighty and his workings do you or should you ?

The GB are because thats what the past heads of this organization said what they are and that makes up the real public marketing of themselves.

To power seeking opportunist men, thats plenty good enough for them.

By asking the GB of the Mormon church to explain you would end up with pretty much the same result.

Didn't they say "light flashed up" about some doctrine?

Seems to me it was the 1935 closing of the anointed class of which they said that.

Of course, now that's old light, so I guess "old light flashed up."

Either way, it sounds like they all said, "Aha!" at the same time and decided it must therefore be "the truth."

Given all of their doctrinal flip-flopping I'd have to conclude that their holy spirit dispenser has a loose connection somewhere.

With no demand for explanations none are forthcoming.

    SOMEBODY AT LEAST ASK!

The elders are experts at shutting you the hell up by condescendingly dismissing such questions.

    DON'T STAND FOR IT!

"We'll have all our questions answered on the other side of Armageddon."

"Oh? So, in other words you don't know. Well, point me to somebody who can answer my question please."

Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is settling for NO INFORMATION.

If God gave you a brain and curiousity and you don't use it---that's ON YOU!
