My only disappointment was that she didn't use the word "shun" when speaking of her current relationship with her father. :(
Tater, could you help me by telling me how this would have impacted you if someone would have presented it to you when you were in? What thoughts would have gone through your mind as you listened to her?

I've watched this video a few times. It is really quite sad. To be honest, I think they are worse because it is such a closed-knit community in the WBC it is almost impossible to secretly violate their shunning protocols.
I never agreed with shunning and I never practiced it. Even as a JW this would have made me disgusted seeing as how I was always sort of disgusted at the practice by JW's.

I don't think anything can help when you are in..
I saw this thing on how belief systems work.. and it says that everyone has a core belief that is most important.. then they make everything ..
fit, That and support it.. a person has to really want to find the truth and be willing to accept it it even if it contradics what they currently hold so dear..
My dad always told me "you can't change anyone ...you can help them if they want to change.. and it is diffecult to change even if you want to"
most relationships fail because most people don't get this and they try to change each other.. and it never works..

I watched her on a show and she said her family has nothing to do with her because she left. When I saw her it reminded me of the Witnesses, so sad but glad she came to her senses.
