I thought the page on the Official JW site "Are You an American Sect?" is quite disturbing. The Borg REALLY has no problem lying thru their teeth!"

    Here's what it says:

Our world headquarters is located in the United States of America. However, we are not an American sect for the following reasons:

    • Some define a sect as a group that has broken away from an established religion. Jehovah’s Witnesses have not broken away from some other religious group. Instead, we feel that we have reestablished the form of Christianity that was practiced in the first century.

    • Jehovah’s Witnesses are active in their ministry in over 230 lands and countries. No matter where we live, we give our primary allegiance to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ, not to the U.S. government or to any other human government.—John 15:19;17:15, 16.

    • All of our teachings are based on the Bible, not on the writings of some religious leader in the United States.—1 Thessalonians 2:13.

    • We follow Jesus Christ, not any human leader.—Matthew 23:8-10.

I put in bold the incredible dishonesty of the Watchtower: They avoid using the words Human leaders, and instead, play on words and use the words Religious/Human Leader, as if there was only one leader.

      Demonically clever!

    Reality would be:

All of our teachings are based on the Bible, AND the writings from a commitee of religious leaders in the United States.

    Now THAT's the truth! ;)

They have a pretty warped view of reality, as anyone on this board already knows..

Most of their beliefs ARE created by some men in the U.S. Sure, they do not have any one leader anymore but the GB/FDS replaces this.

    WT Authority Hierarchy: GB/FDS > God/Jesus/Bible > any other secular arguments/evidence

I had a chat with JWs last time they came, about the HUMAN LEADER, and of course they said no we dont have a human leader...

I said "oh yes you do, its called a composite leader, made up of 7 MEN...collectivly the human leader.

I am sure the public are becoming more aware too of the WT double speak

All their teachings are not based on the Bible. The Bible clearly shows that the passover is eaten on the first day of UFC, which means it is eaten on an annual high-sabbath day. That means Jesus was arrested on the 15th and could not have died the same day he ate passover. But for some reason theWTS and the rest of Christendom just can't figure that out!!!

The real question is: 'Are JWs a destructive cult?'

    Answer: 'Hell, YES!'
