How They Believe It Is Supposed To Work
[li] The present annointed Governing Body members shall soon pass away and receive their heavenly reward, not awaiting a resurrection.
[li] Having run the fine "race" to the finish, they shall effectively pass "GO" and collect their proverbial $200, to borrow a metaphor from the Milton Bradley game.
[li] Upon their physical deaths they expect to enjoy an instant transfer of consciousness into glorious spirit bodies in Heaven.
[li] Not going to the proverbial Monopoly "Jail" upon their deaths (until awakening to a resurrection like the rest of sinful mankind), they expect to pass "Jail" and go directly to a heavenly "Park Place" filled with riches and powers beyond earthly comprehension.
[li] These men who proclaimed themselves as part of the collective "Faithful and Discreet Slave class" here on Earth expect to enter Heaven to reign over mankind as "Priests" next to Jesus Christ, who is King over the Earth, for a thousand years.
How It Might Actually Work
[li] The present men on the Watchtower Society's Governing Body shall soon die of natural age related causes.
[li] Each one suddenly finds himself hovering over and looking down on his frail aged body in shock and puzzlement, as younger men scurry about his body. Perhaps one of them is calling 911 on his cell phone.
[li] Each one, in a state of shock and confusion, watches paramedics attempt to revive his body with shock treatments to the chest, but finally they wipe their profusely perspiring brows and pronounce him dead.
[li] Each one sees a tunnel of light but is overpowered with fear. Resisting the light, they find themselves in familiar surroundings inside Bethel, but to their dismay nobody sees them. Over the next few months the truth is slowly sinking in, and they become filled with sadness, their confusion growing deeper.
[li] They observe the young Governing Body members they appointed praying to Jehovah through Christ asking their direction.
[li] Slowly these "ghosts" at Bethel start to learn to communicate telepathically through these younger men on the Governing Body through their dreams at night, and their daydreams during the day. Before long, these younger men start to respond intuitively to that direction, leading the organization just like their older counterparts did. These younger men are convinced the "annointed" are directing them from Heaven just as the "first" faithful slave Pastor Russell directed his predecessors, and as Judge Rutherford directed his predecessors, on down the line. Unknown to any of them, the truth was different than their human interpretation lead them to believe.
Unknown to everyone, the Governing Body is engaged in spiritism (in this case communication with the spirits of the dead), ironically condemned by the Bible. They are receiving their direction from spirits who are afraid to enter the light.
As one who has been a baptized JW since the mid-1970's, I have personally seen enough phenomenon to seriously question myself whether we are interpreting the scriptures about the condition of the dead in Ecclesiastes and elsewhere correctly. Suppose the soul is a living form of energy beyond our understanding of physics, and can exist as an intelligent entity outside of the physical body? Then JWs are in for a rude awakening upon their deaths, especially those on the Governing Body of JWs!
I'm not saying that I know this for a certainty. It's similar to one seeing a "flying saucer" and others looking skeptically upon that individual, not believing them. We each tend to only believe what we ourselves witness firsthand. Until you witness what I have witnessed firsthand I would never try to influence you to believe it. I'm not even sure that I believe it myself.
I do know this, however, that if the Governing Body are no more "annointed" than any other believer in the one true God, then one way or another, they are setting their youthful predecessors up for a major fall!
How Do YOU Think It Might Actually Work?
Share your bulleted scenario of what might occur that the new "spirit-directed" Governing Body might encounter?
Who knows? I've heard it said that these older men are reading discussion forums like this one from laptop computers.

Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.
