Elder Calls To Invite Us To October Annual Meeting -- What's Up With That?

My wife fielded a call from a local elder inviting us to attend the Annual Meeting this October... I declined, of course. What's up with that? Is it held in Pittsburgh with tie-ins to local Assembly Halls? I can't believe there would otherwise be room for little piss-ons like us. Of course, the evening turned sour once I told her "no way" would I attend.

Does any of you know what's going on with this?

This year they are going to broadcast the Annual Meeting program to assembly halls all over the country. There will be repeat sessions on Saturday and Sunday so everyone can attend, but I believe it's by invitation only, i.e. not open to the public.

At least a good number will be there to report what is actually said, it seems that "Noo Lite" is dribbled out by one of the GB dropping his trousers to show its origin and then talking about it at the AGM. Other speakers follow and say they "love this new teaching !", at least that is what more or less happened last year.

Maybe sometime later it gets in to print, only in English language versions at first of course.

That is over six months away! Talk about advanced notice.

I wonder if they are going to drop a big doctrinal change.

My guess is that they are going to first build excitement for it. Then, begin to give hints at how expensive it is for them to do this and all who are filled with appreciation should donate accordingly.

It is a cash flow opportunity, with little overhead. That is my quess, anyways.

Plenty of time to save up then.
