A young member of the cong was dfd for not giving up the realtionship they had commenced. Well, how powerful is the passion of youth. Later it was stated to the cong by the DO that we were not following the the requirements to shun this one.

I felt a touch awkward for them but if we met would always say hi and speak to them like a human to another human. Then their work took them in close contact to mine. Shun them be damned!

Paul who the wts will quote from ad nauseum said treat such ones as of the world. Well are you rude to people in shops at work as and when you meet? No.

Guess what, I met this one again this morning not having seen them for a few years. I looked and hm they have grown and how well they look. They dont know Im 'out' and I could see the hesitation on their part. So in kindness I over came that shook hands and had a brief chat.

    Shun be damned.

    Good for you zeb

Isn't it nice to no longer be shackled down with false doctrine and to be able to show compassion and fellow feeling to all and not let someone in NY dictate to you whether you can say "hello" or "hi" to a fellow human being.

ZEB- Very good point you make about shunning. Indeed, we have NEVER ( at least I haven't ) treated people of the " world " ( non-JW's ) with disrespect. Even when I used to be a JW. I've always been courteous so if a DFed JW is out and around to treat them ' like the world " would include being kind, respectful, and neighborly- even for JW's they should act this way. It shows how judgmental a cult the wT Society and JWs are that they are unable to act this way towards DFed people
