The saddest thing is that the mother continues to feel affection for her daughter's rapist. That is something I will never understand.

A lot of women have this distorted mothering thing.

I couldnt get the sound too well but the idea comes over.

That was so sad it makes you realize how terrible it all really is.

Reminds me of the movie Precious.

If you're looking for raw emotional content and a very distorted view of motherhood.

If you were saddened by the mothers actions in this clip, the mother in Precious, played by Monique, will take your breath away.

A middle class version of a scene from "Precious" is about right.

It's kind of sad that often, the only way these creeps get what's coming to them is if a pregnancy occurs.

Very disturbing how the mother isn't actually there for her daughter. Thank you for posting. It seems the repercussions from having a child that is a product of rape never really go away. Hard to believe some U.S. states allow parental rights to the rapist.

    BTT.

I kind of expect (some) males to have difficulty understanding the impact of rape, but females - and mothers at that?! Staggering.

I should no longer be surprised but the kinds of accounts I hear in my line of work about mother's not listening to their daughter's cries for help because the mother fears losing the man and/or blames the daughter. So sad - and that the organization feeds into this tendency to "blame" the victim or expect a corroborated account from a second witness is shocking.

Very powerful. Good acting, and the piano music is perfect. People get lulled to sleep about the horrors of child abuse but films like this should keep it at the forefront of today's issues!
