Maybe in hindsight they just dont see it worthwhile in monetary value or in gaining converts .Who knows what contributions they received at that convention or what kickbacks they may have received from politicians/councils/municipalitys for holding it in their city.
If I remember correctly their was about a quarter of a million in attendance at that time ? in the late 50`s ?
I know in the 60`s and 70`s they went for more smaller international conventions in more locations around the globe.
And of course their have been far greater crowds at other religous festivals , such as Billy Graham crusades , the Roman Catholic Popes appearances not to mention the Muslim and Indian festivals.
Or is this just another indication of the slow decline in the numbers and influence of the watchtower religion overall ,are we in fact seeing the demise of the jehovahs witness religion , is it in fact running out of steam.
