Do Pioneers drive the way they walk?

Found myself behind a minivan full of people all dressed up for something. They were going about 25 in a 45 zone. I wonder if they were doing return visits or something. They weren't looking for an address because they drove about a mile down the road and got on the freeway.

I have seen that, and it is because they need to stretch their time. I have seen them on expressways (speed limit 55 MPH, no restrictions) doing less than 40 MPH. They would drive down streets, sometimes as low as 10 MPH while looking for things.

And this slow driving is consistent--until it's time for coffee or to go in. You don't drive 40 km/h (speed limit 50 or 60 km/h) while there only to drive 70 km/h on the same streets to "start your time" or go for coffee, unless the work is a drudgery. And yes, I have seen them speed while heading for coffee after going well below the speed limit for no good reason while in field circus.

    What a waste.

Come to think of it they do drive slowly. I have to say though, the slow walking was a killer for me - you put up with it because it's either that or having to knock on more doors - but nothing is more tiring than creeping along all day. A snail moves faster.

The "pioneer shuffle" the walk is called, though of course it is adopted by most JW's, to stretch time. I saw two ladies walking that way as I drove by the other day, both wearing the "modest" (read weird) garb, and both deep in conversation.

You can spot the buggers a mile off.

The only time I know them to drive fast is returning from a convention, I used to be overtaken by many JW's ,Elders included, doing in excess of 20 MPH above the legal speed limit. ( I was only doing about 10 MPH above LOL)
