Who Are Christs Brothers, and how are the sheep and goats separated?

The WT interprets this scripture differently than anyone in history,

including Jesus and his followers in the first century. Who did make provisions

for widows and orphans and the poor. Remember Jesus said anyone who

believed he was the Messiah and the son of God was his "brother" and He would

come and dwell with them. That was Jesus promise and all he required.

SO - The WT says this scripture Matthew 25:31-41 look it up

is about 'doing good' to the "governing body" obedience

and about "obeying the faithful and discreet slave"

or everything in the literature and the Watchtower Society edicts.

The WT has no literal concern for the actual poor and suffering people

of this earth. Does this really make sense to YOU ????

No community work ? No schools? Hospitals? Charity of any kind ?

    Matthew 25:31 - 45:

31When the Son of man shall come in his glory,

and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them

one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

35 For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat:

I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in:

36 Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me:

I was in prison, and you came to me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord,

when did we see you hungry, and fed you? or thirsty, and gave you drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you?

39 Or when did we see you you sick, or in prison, and came to you?

40 And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you,

Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers,

you have done it to me.( some translations just say the least, or destitute )

41 Then shall he say also to them on the left hand,

Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire,

prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was hungry, and you gave me no food:

I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and you took me not in:

naked, and you clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and you visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying,

Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked,

or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to you?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Truly I say to you,

Inasmuch as you did it not to one of the least of these,

you did it not to me. Please NOTE Jesus says nothing

about belonging to an organization or following a governing body

or anyone except Jesus Christ himself, and doing good to others.

They take the scripture as being spiritually but when would the anointed consider themselves to be spiritually sick or in prison?

Teachers of the early Church were always ardent

apologists of charity in all its forms.

For Christian love of neighbor there opened a wide field

of work wherever there was need.

Hermas repeatedly pointed to the Christian duty

to take care of widows and orphans.

Clement of Rome praised the hospitalityof Christians

and commended it in his letter to the Christians in Corinth

    as their main merit.

He relates that many Christians went to prison voluntarily

in order to set free others, and many of them became slaves

so that the money paid for them could be used

to ransom others. Most of the charity was done

by the Church itself, while the faithful who brought

material resources, participated in charity indirectly.

    Generally the early Church considered

all its property to belong to the poor.

Judas remember held the purse which was the

money collected to distribute food and clothes to the needy.

Acts 6:1 In those days when the number of disciples was increasing,

the Hellenistic Jews[a] among them complained against the

Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked

in the daily distribution of food. (they then chose seven men

in the congregation to be sure the food

was distributed evenly to all widows and orphans )

Recently a thought came to mind where reaching out to those honesthearted ones trapped in the Watchtower could be seen as visiting Jesus' brothers in (spiritual) prison.

(Why does the "true religion" secretly blind its followers to the "Good News" according to Paul, Moses, Isaiah and Psalms?)

I was in that WT spiritual prison for over 20 years.

I pioneered, I studied with people and now those studies

are in the spiritual prison. I deeply regret my part in their blindness.

The witnesses use terms they don't even think about.

    Like, "the anointed"

In the Bible, Christians were baptized in the name

of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is the anointing.

If you are baptized, you are anointed by your faith, the Holy Spirit and

being baptized into the body of Christ. But the WT wants to

make some "special" "secret" awe inspiring mysterious

meaning out of the term "anointed" People who think they are

free from the WT speak here in this forum of "the anointed"

It is just a way of keeping the rank and file Jehovah's Witnesses

in "awe" of their leadership as if these sequestered leaders

are the only ones who are meant to be "anointed" and

all you have to do is read the gospels to see this idea

of limited peoples being anointed, is nowhere to be found.

The GB set themselves up as gods, not to be questioned,

not to be held accountable. Never having to admit to a mistake

or the harm they do to people's lives.

And the devoted Jehovah's Witness is devoted to

    the "faithful and discreet slave"

another "magical" term to the JW, and this is idolatry.

The GB makes a whole doctrine around the scripture

of the stewards or slaves in God's household and

turns this simple caring parable about stewardship

into another way to turn attention to themselves

and their control, being in charge, "channeling God",

with selfish intent to obeyed and feared, like gods.

The brotherhood and equality of the Bible, the equality Jesus spoke of,

the WT breaks up into "classes"

Fake "classes" anointed, earthly, heavenly. Not in the Bible

These obsessions with "classes" become the

main underlying basis for all watchtower literature,

    talks, assemblies, and magazines.

Jesus Christ is a footnote. A nod in the closing of a prayer.

    VillageGirl:

I posted some research on this subject here (see my posts # 267 & 272), if interested.

There is more research on this parable here (see my posts # 713 & 715), although it is less directly related to your post.

    Take Care

Bobcat - noted and read - Reference there to the another attempt

Jesus made to tell Christians what Christianity was all about, was the

parable of the Good Smaritan. This man lying injured,

wasn't a Jew, the man he helped is not identified as a believer at all,

yet Jesus says the Good Samaritan was

folowing the basic principles of the Law, Love your neighbor as yourself.

How many times have we heard among Jehovah's Witnesess, talk about

    "HATING THE WORLD" ??

This man lying on the road was a worldly person.

Jesus said the religious people passing him by, were hypocrites and the

Samaritan was loving his neighbor as himself by DOING , ACTING,

providing medical assitance, paying his lodging, housing him,

not reading him a scripture or giving him a magazine

NIV 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Yeap, your right. They even think they are ones seperating the sheep from the goats. Basically they butcher the bible. Everything is about them.

Like most statements and accounts in the NT Matthew 25 proves Jesus was not the Messiah and the story of the Good Samaritan is just more anti-semetic dribble.

If you want to consider yourself one of Jesus' brothers (whatever happened to women here) go for it but what delusion of the mind awaits.
