Well, I didn't participate in any other religious service (because I don't care to), but I had a wonderful easter day family dinner with my wife's family.

There are Russian Jews, Catholics, agnostics and athiests in her family. You know what? They all love each other dearly. Easter, to them, is just another reason to show love to each other.

Is this how families are? If so, I missed out on a whole bunch as a kid. Close families are wonderful. It's fulfilling to be around a bunch of good people who mean it when they ask how you are....it's almost foreign to me.

Hope everybody had a happy one, including the JW's. (I know they still don't celebrate, but I always knew a few JW's who slipped a cadbury into their mouths on easter). :)

You are lucky. Lately, i have been thinking of all my relatives, 2500 miles away, that my family moved away from in 1960, when i was very young. Just thinking.

    Ash,

I love Christmas. I still remember the first Christmas I had with my sisters. We had a blast with a big dinner, drinks, and presents.
Now we do it every year and I look forward to it.

My kids had their first easter egg hunt...I bought them a basket each and Andy and I hid the chocolate eggs etc. They are too old to really get into it...but they loved the novelty of it...and were racing each other to find the most...but were happy to divide all their findings into equal amounts each. We didn't have a large family dinner this year...but the last two years we did...Andy's family are italian catholics and Aussies...so it is usually a grand affair with fish this and fish that...no meat etc. Its been a lot of fun...and I'm taking in all this paganism heartily.

    Good on ya Ashi,
I can relate to how the in-laws treat you and each other.
I'm in the same boat where my partner's family are wonderful people.
My first easter with them was a shock for me, with all the family together and all the yummies chockies.
    Christmas was the same.
Despite being "worldlies", they are fantastic, loving and welcoming people.
This year we spread chockie eggs around the living area and my 20 month old baby around picking them up and putting them in her basket.
    It was so cute.
