I know from other reading that we can lift our mood simply by smiling.
I got to thinking of the steady cues for conformity that new book studies are fed, to get them used to the uniformity to come. I recall a study arriving to a service a little ragged in t-shirt and jeans. He is warmly welcomed and complimented for his attendance, intelligence, ands so on. The next service, he is in a tuxedo t-shirt. The next, a dress shirt with borrowed tie. Within weeks he is dressed like the rest in full suit, modest shirt and tie.
How much does the external conformity influence the mind towards internal conformity?
