"Look at the Fruits" Says the Watchtower

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We know how much in the way of doctrine is Scripturally deficient in the WatchTower organization, but they will always come back and say something on the following lines:
    * Look at the fruit of our works. Millions are coming to an accurate knowledge about Jehovah who would never get to know Him where it not for our preaching activities carried out worldwide. Which other organization does this on such a large scale? Yes some doctrines may be inaccurate, and we "wait on Jehovah" to clarify these matters, but just look at the fruitage - surely this indicates Jehovah's blessing on his organization.

    * We are the only people who truly love one another no matter where we are from. Other religionists kill one another, but we would never do that. Doctrine aside, look at what Jehovah's spirit is accomplishing in the organization today."

    * Who else is preaching the good news of God's Kingdom - only Jehovah's Witnesses.

When I have voiced disagreements on matters such as the 144,000/great crowd or the 607BCE issue, JW's generally discard these things as minor matters in comparison to some of the above. Sometimes they seem so convinced that I almost find myself believing they do have the truth and they do have God's blessing. Some of the above are quite hard to refute. Has anyone else had a similar issue with the above? How have you responded when an elder or another Witness brings these things up?

    Respond with,

I've read of numerous cases of JW's committing Murder or rape or guilty of pedophilia. If the JW"s did not forbid military service under pain of Disfellowshipping, the JW's would be in the same boat as everyone else.

The JW's are the only ones preaching the Gospel? Tell that to the 31 Catholic Missionaries martyred for the faith in 2001 alone.

Fruits? Where are the hospitals, where are the soup kitchens, where are the JW's caring for widows and orphans, where are the JW Charities.

That is a proper response the the JW nonsense just presented.

Oddly enough, the almost total lack of these "fruits" was the reason I became inactive.

While talking about the great love in the Organization, the reality was quite different, with numerous cliques, gossip, backbiting, backstabbing, small-mindedness and outright cruelty in evidence everywhere.

JWs show love until you let it be known that you disagree with some of their doctrines. Then see how fast the love switch is turned off.

JWs do not preach the good news that is in the Bible. JWs preach the good news as defined by the WBTS and that is that all people who do not become JWs will be destroyed at Armegeddon.

JWs do not go door to door because of feelings of altruism, they go from door to door because the WBTS tells them that in order to become members of the society this is required of them. If going from door to door was no longer a requirement of association, how many do you think would still continue this practice?

The reason JW's do not go to war is because they are supposed to be netural not conscientious objectors ( though most dubs don't realise this). There is a big difference. All this means is that they won't take sides with "worldly disputes. But if God asked them to kill they would, its just at the moment thats not Gods will.Other religions just believe they are doing Gods will , which includes fighting against evil.
If not killing others in war is a sign of being Gods chosen people then what about Isreal?

The 'fruitage' i.e. numbers being converted is not an indication of God's blessing. The figures are down in the western world..Japan etc . Faulty doctrines are at odds with the WTS idea that JC appointed the FDS in 1919...to give food at the proper time.

The JW love is only conditional.

True, no one is preaching the WTS garbage. It is however, nothing to be proud of!

Yerusalim;good points, but when ever I brought up this point they'd say... 'where are the hospitals Jesus built? The aids centres, the soup kitchens and charities for the homeless? He came to preach not to set up charities...AAAAGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!

WHere are the hospitals Jesus founded? He pysically healed people as well as spiritually healed them.

Where were the soup kitchens Jesus built? Jesus fed 5000 at one time with 5 loaves and two fishes.

Where did Christ shelter the homeless? His cloak was given to a Roman soldier.

More importantly, Christ commanded us to do all these things. If the Witnesses want to do ONLY as Jesus DID and not what Jesus SAID, none of them should be married, or ride in cars, or have a headquarters, as Jesus was a wanderer.
