For Friday and all the other loyal Dubs here, a question. How many Gilead Graduates were martyred in the year 2001 for their faith. The actual number of Missionary deaths, not that of just the loyal dubs, but those specifically sent to lands where the faith is not being preached to preach it. How many have died? The Catholic Church last year saw 31 deaths of Missionaries plus the 100's or 1000's killed for their faith who were not specifically missionary. Then tell me what faith group is reaching out "where the need is greatest."

Yeru, interesting topic. I tried to find a United Nations listing of reported missionary deaths among NGOs, but either I'm incapable, or there just isn't one. I was also curious about all those nasty little diseases they pick up where "the need is great"...malaria, tuberculosis, parasites, ebola, typhoid, etc..all very pleasant. As a member of the service I guess you get into the same boat as the missionaries do. You buy that ticket and take that ride, except your's is a much more worthy ticket indeed.

    Sincerely,

I am interested in the source of your statement of the "100's or 1000's killed for their faith."
