The United Church of Canada had a similar change and division, beginning in 1988, when the Church first took a liberal stand. For a while, they were nicknamed the "Divided United". It's been quite the transformation, and a real example, I do believe. Of course, Scotland is much more "Catholic" than Canada, though we do have our pockets. It's awesome to see these changes happening.
