I would guess that the fact that most major media outlets now allow followup comments from readers would explain why there is very little in the way of "Press Releases" by the Convention Dept to the local media. While they might be able to "control" the information that they provide to the actual author of the article, look at the barage of comments that follow. Sadly, this journalist did little or no research into the group other than what the JW representative gave him.
Poor journalism.
