What do you think? With all the back-door politics, white-washing of elder mistakes, selective enforcement of rules etc. aren't elders not much different than any other political position out there in the world (mayor, congressman, senator etc.)? Doesn't the same hold true as well for CO, DO, etc.? What are everybody's thoughts on this? Aren't they just basicially jw politicians? Stories welcome as well.

once you have poly=many,- you have politics, hence politician.

Jesus is reported to have tried to combat that tendency, the fighting for top jobs by merit, or debating scills, family influence, and arguing among the 12. so:

While Jesus did not,- and obviously does not now,- curb politics, it shows he is looking for politics - free INDIVIDUALS *(become like lttle children) and not for

politics -infested organisations as his favored.

like the sealing of INDIVIDUALS "out of the [organized] 12 tribes Rev.7.

So: freedom reigns, but with consequences Math.7,-- and the "heavier judgement" for the politically successful.

All corporations are run on politics.

I used to have a job, and my co-worker had narcissistic personality disorder. I had never heard of NPD, but I was describing her behavior to a therapist, and she told me that it sounded like NPD. She went on to say that many CEO's and politicians have NPD. I'm sure many religious leaders have it, too. I looked up NPD on the internet, and the list of traits associated with it fit my co-worker like a glove. My father also had it.

When I was taking university classes, I was discussing religiion with a classmate. She told me she had an uncle who was a bishop in the Roman Catholic Church, and he had told her that reaching that position was all politics.

Bureaucrats. They cater to the big boss, not the little guy. Those who won't conform are weeded out.

    Politicians glad-hand the hoi polloi.

I have repeatedly heard while I was still in about how this brother or that brother cannot be a Ministerial Servient or Elder because his field service hours or too low or his wife's field service hours are too low. The Bible says nothing about field service hours as being part of qualifying to be an MS or Elder. They go above and beyond what is written all the time. Rules can be broken if you are in a family that is in the who's who of JW world.

    Politicians spends the people's money.

Governing Body spends the people's money.

You know elders argue how to spend extra money. Did it right before my elders meeting. Shocked me.

After the Kingdom Hall bills are paid elders VOTE how to spend the extra money. Majority vote wins.

It is nothing but politics that is why it is government ruled.

The more I think about it, I remember when we took votes at the Kingdom Hall,Lol, the majority did not matter. The overseer had the last say.

I think they have a little columnist attitude.

Are women involved in the elders private meetings where they vote on how to spend money?
